I purchased 3 pots,
A Clarostat .
Honeywell
Dunlop 470k.

These don’t taper all the way off. I get to a place in each pot and lose taper.
That point is like an on off switch. Rock my foot on the pedal and all three pots are like flipping an on off switch.

Is this the new normal for pots?

Not usually - but there's not enough information.

"Pots" don't do anything by themselves. They have to be in a circuit. What are they installed in? How are all 3 used in the same circuit? Is it an active circuit or passive?

What values were the original pots and were they the same taper - audio or linear taper. If not that could be your problem right there.
