Thanks setting me straight on that Mike, I was misinformed..then why are Dumble's so expensive? |
Mostly hype Mike on Dumbles. They do sound good for some and they are few in numbers like Franklins but there is no rational reason big stars buy those things.
I think in most cases its about bragging rights but Im sure the buyers love them, or at least they better to throw down 6 figures for one! Bludotone builds a D-Style amp as well for 5K that guys like Ford and Carolton use so they can preserve their investments. Dumbles are finite and have been 100% copied so there really ins't some sort of voodoo on those things.
Cheers Mike.... _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

I did. 11.5K with only 5 knees. Guess that puts my 8/6 @ 12K!
Bob you never know, At the end of the day it really boils down to what someone will pay,
Mike and Mike ...10 years ago I was offered a Dumble overdrive special for 22,500.00, played it for a few hours with different cabs, really gave it a work out,
A great amp, for sure, But I thought the price was crazy,
Its double that today, at least, who's the Dumble now? LOL.
Stuff like this is hard to predict, but generally they go up,

Greg,
I saw a Dumble OD Special with a 2x12 cab at Gruhns 4 or 5 years ago before they moved. It was a 150K LOL. Completely stupid but I guess Hype sells to people with more money than brains. _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Mike, Now i really feel Dumble
Lol
At the time I thought the amp was as good as the really nice classic's, but of course different,
Like a nice Blackface amp, or a old Copper panel Ac 30 , or an old Marshall,
But it had that Dumble mojo, you know its the only one on the Block for sure,

Yeah but since those days they have been duplicated easily and a blindfold test will prove that. Now, if you want an investment that (might) go up even more thats another subject matter.

every time I read about stuff like this I remember my heroes, Buddy and Lloyd, Buddy with his old push pull and $300 Peavey amps, and Lloyd with his old Sho~Bud and Twin ... if I could only play like these guys, you can keep your Dumbles lol .... _________________ https://steelguitarsonline.com/ |
