A friend of mine just sent me a recording of Matthews Southern Comfort playing a James Taylor song"Something in the way she moves"and Gordon Huntley plays some great steel guitar...For some reason He never gets talked about in the Steel guitar world! _________________ Steeltronics Z-pickup,Desert Rose S-10 4+5,Desert Rose Keyless S-10 3+5... He was a pioneer of pedal steel in the UK, and was very adept on both E9 and C6. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. I've played guitar, and been friends, with Iain (formerly Ian) Matthews for @25 years now. One of my great disappointments is, he really DISLIKES pedal steel these days.....at least for his own music. I would love to do a tour with him where we recreate some of the Southern Comfort and Valley Hi (with Red Rhodes) material. Alas, it's not likely.
He has even just put together a new version of Matthews Southern Comfort, with Dutch players (Iain lives in the Netherlands now).........no steel.
Anyway, some of Gordon Huntley's parts on those records are stellar!

Agreed Stu, Gordon and BJ.Cole were the two guys I knew about about from across the pond. Played on a lot of rock things in the 70's.
Got to meet B.J. in Austin many years ago, very nice bloke _________________ Regards, Craig

He plays on an album by not so well known singer Marc Ellington. Sneaky Pete plays on it as well.
