That's a really nice deal, someone should snag it.

I had one just like that in 1973-74. Fun to play, but I didn't like the tone. I'd probably like it more today.

It's a longer scale, too (I think 24 1/2").

The pickups are very thin, almost like an old Dearmond pickup. But with the right adjustment of the height you can get nice tone out of it.

I put out a "...if you are willing to ship" inquiry this morning. But having just bought my first console (that hasn't even arrived yet), should they happen to want to ship it to me, I sure would have some 'splainin to do with the wife! Shocked Very Happy

Edit...then I started thinking, a lot of people in my particular industry are at an annual conference in Seattle this week...maybe I could orchestrate a broker from someone I know...then I had to stop myself going down that line of thought, ha.

Looks very much like the famed Jules Magnatone that Alan Akaka owns!

I told my wife if I ever find a way to get hold of one of these, I promise, I'll sell another guitar or two to make room! Smile

That was the problem I had with it. The pickups sounded like those old Teisco guitars from the 60's. Not my favorite tone by a long shot. It would be criminal to change them at this point, though. Looks like a nice guitar. Good price. I'm tempted.

Scale length is 24.5 in.
The tone of my guitar is full and I prefer it to the tone of my 24.5 in Stringmaster. Very tasty into a Princeton Reverb. The tone control action is weird but there is a sweet spot.

I got one here on the forum for $800 a few years back. I was happy with the price and liked the tone. I use a low E G6 so had some big fat strings on there, maybe that helped. Problem was I only ever used the one neck, and it was pretty heavy to lug around, so I sold to someone else here on the forum for the same price. A few months later I was listening to some tapes of me playing it and it sounded pretty sweet, at that time I was sorry I got rid of it. In retrospect it was the right thing to do, but if I had the cash I would go after the one posted, that is a great deal.

Well, I hope someone is able to pick it up.

....and then turn around and "flip" it to me! Very Happy

Never heard from the seller on the "willing to ship" inquiry, so I'm guessing it sold or they are not interested in that. Not even sure how you'd orchestrate that anyway, without a whole lot of trust, or going through ebay, etc.
