I'm thinking of putting some tilt back legs on my Nashville 400. Anyone know what length? They have 14", 16", and 19". I doubt it is the 19".

Richard,
You could do like Evans amps do. Install a spring loaded handle on the bottom.

That might work.

I use a Walmart exercise dumbbell. Cheap and available.

I buy those plastic wedge doorstops, two for less than $2, and put one under each of the front feet of the amp. Light, cheap, packs away easily and gives a decent amount of tilt-back.

I have a Roland AC-33 with a similar Spring Loaded Tilt Back Stand. It works great. I have found it to be more stable than the tilt-back legs or a loose prop. YMMV. Have fun in your Tilt Back Search! Cool

Richard, watch this video for clues:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvqpPuC7c_k

You have to measure the height of the amp and give an allowance of a 1/2" at the top above the legs and maybe 3/4" at the bottom, depending on how you measure from the bottom of the amp, to know what size legs will do best for your Peavey.

You'll also have to consider where the nuts go on the inside of the cabinet, will it be where the amp chassis is, hard to get at etc.

But the above video by Jon from Tennessee Amp Co does a good job of making it look proper.

I've got the same exact ice-pick he uses as an awl. Smile

Richard, what sort of angle do you want? This one leans back pretty good. $25 at Guitar Center. The legs on my Twin made me nervous near the edge of a band-stand. The stand is more stable.

This one works with my 1x12 Katana and HR Deluxe. Might fit the Nash-400.

I already have an amp stand. I'm trying to reduce the amount of stuff I have to carry into and out of a gig as well as into and out of my house.

I'm going to try the spring loaded handle like Evans uses.

That stand that Dan showed is great, it is very light and stable, but it is an extra thing to carry. Quilter makes black anodized aluminum legs for about 40 bucks; very light weight. I have them on two amplifiers and the angle and stability is much better that a bottom handle (IMHO). See below attached to a Milkman Half & Half that is about the same size as a NV 400.

Richard: I have 16" Fender legs on my Nashville 1000. Very stable. I had to redrill some holes as I didn't measure well enough.

FWIW: I sometimes use the last beer bottle I've emptied to tip the amp back a bit. Works great Very Happy

The best solution I have seen is the little flip out foot on the bottom of the Telonics TCA500 Combo amp -- it folds up recessed flush with the bottom of the amp when not in use!

On my Evans it has the spring loaded stand, works great. I have a Quilter Steel Aire, and it has the fender style tilt back legs. You can get the legs from Quilter and they come with a template to drill the holes so you can't screw it up.
