Jerry,
I don't want to throw cold water on your project, but there aren't too many pedal steel mechanics who want to work on ZB's. They're a different animal than most pedal steels.
The last one I worked on, I converting it to a regular cross shafts setup. I got rid of all the John Deere hardware under the hood.
It would up looking like this:

I have worked as a machinist for 45 years and a backyard mechanic for about the same amount, rebuilding engines and such. The ZB doesn't scare me. But, if I start, I could be into it for a long time and right now I just want something to play. I also have to take the time to learn the names of the parts and how they work together etc. |

I have to find someone who can restore the woodwork and logo on the front. Except for that the rest of the guitar is in very good shape for its age. |

Jerry,
You mean like this:
This guitar was all black when I got it. There is a very extended posting on ZB's if you do a search, it is many pages long. I contacted a few of the individuals who posted and located some of the ZB parts that I needed, including the logo you are wanting.

I started reading a few threads on the ZBs. Last week I couldn't even spell ZB and this week I own one. We make decals and stickers here at work for our machines. I am looking into if we can make one. |
