How many Forumites own a 1950s Bronson Melody King BROWN/ GOLD Lap Steel Guitar?
If so how do rate this guitar?

Roger - I did own one and it was an excellent instrument. This model was marketed as Bronson Melody King, but it was made by Rickenbacker, which sold it as BD-6, in black and white. Mine was a 1949 model and had a 1 1/4" horseshoe pickup. |

I bought a Bronson (Bakelite, BD-6) Melody King Lap Guitar a week or 2 ago. (paid $650.)
The guitar is in excellent condition, considering that it's 60 yrs old.
The case is another story. It is usable, but needs repairs outside & inside. All the exterior metal parts are rusty.

Roger, I own one of the Bakelite Bronsons and it's my favorite lap steel out of quite a few. I have the matching amp and a few copys of Bronson's sheet music which have an ad for the combo on the back.
