Mapuana played on a modern Epiphone Electar fitted with a Charlie Christian style pickup. Played through a Yamaha THR10 on the acoustic amp setting. Thanks to Doug Beaumier for this version and backing track. B11 tuning.

One of my favorites. Very lush sounding arrangement with nice fat strum chords and single string passages for variation. You played that very tastefully with a great touch. |

Lovely playing and arrangement. One of the first songs I worked out while getting the hang of C6, but there's some chordal complexity it sounds like B11 allows for (those "Sand"-like chords, love 'em). I may have to try it! |

I use B11 a lot - How'd Ya Do, Sand, Mapuana, In A Little Hula Heaven, Nuages, etc. I use Jules Ah See's B11, not Jerry Byrds. Have fun! _________________ Jack Aldrich

Thanks for all your positive comments.
Doug..... I have recorded a couple more of your arrangements. I am sure I will post more in the future. Thanks again for your books, they have really helped me in my quest to learn the Lap steel guitar.
Nic, the tuning is B11.
Jack. Is there another B11 tuning for the 6 string guitar apart from maybe tuning the low 6 string either C# or B? |

My Jules B11 (bottom to top) id B F# B D# F# A C# E. According to Alan Akaka, Jerry Byrd did not like to end the verse of Sand with just a single note, so his B11 replaces the high F# with an E. _________________ Jack Aldrich
