Had a basket case of a N1000 on my hands. The chassis was in need of repair first off. Thanks to Jimmy McQuaig at the Peavey repair center I was able to get a handle on the issues and do the repair in the shop
Now for the cabinet. The grill assembly, speaker and baffle board were gone. The lower back panel was busted inward and the Tolex was in bad shape. Ordered all new hardware for the cabinet from Peavey. I stripped the cab and replaced the busted lower panel with 1/2 plywood. I made a new baffle board and removable grill frame. Thanks to Tommy Butler I received an EPC-15 speaker. It was one of the prototypes from Eminence that he had tested for them. The covering was some I had hunted down many years ago to restore a 1953 Gibson GA-75. It is a beautiful brown with black swirls. Amp came out great. Upgraded with Burr Briwn chips. Sounds great now. Definitely a labor of love. Lots of hours in this one!

I tried numerous time to rotate the picture and each attempt failed.

Great job and a huge improvement in the overall appearance of the amp. _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande

Thanks so much! I enjoyed restoring the amp and adding a little something different in its appearance.
Now for the Burr Brown upgrade. Those replace the audio amplifier chips in the preamp section of the amp. The a burr Brown audio chip is a plug in, user friendly upgrade. |
