NOTE: I know that these often sell for less...but the good ones are worth more. This is a good one, AND I'LL ACCEPT RETURNS IF THE BUYER DOESN'T AGREE..and I'm covering shipping.
A 1972 Model 66 Dobro square neck resonator in wonderful condition...get that classic Uncle Josh Graves sound, but in a fancy body....the Model 66 has a sandblasted design and subtle sunburst finish on front and back. It sold for $66, and the Model 37 that Josh used sold for $37 when it came out...
These old dobros are quite variable..there are good ones, and not-so-good ones. This is a GREAT one! It has had a professional setup and new Quarterman cone installed. It is a joy to play - the sound is crisp and clear.
There are slight nicks in the finish, as you would expect in a classic instrument, but nothing really going through into the body.

Beautiful example of this model Steve.
Man, this tri-cone GAS that's gotten a hold of you to where you're selling off different instruments - it's like a fever!
And so as not to confuse the reader or someone who doesn't know Dobro history very well, the $66 and $37 prices corresponding with the Dobro model numbers - those are pre WWII - not guitars built in the '70s during the OMI era! _________________ Mark |

For folks not necessarily following the discussion on the other forum, what Mark is referring to is:
Yeah, I traded a 1932 Style 3 Square Neck in perfect shape (I'm gonna' miss it) that I'd only had for a month! ....and a wad of cash, for a Tim Scheerhorn Tricone, one of only 3 that he built before retiring.
I'm just a wood-body guitar guy, I guess (although the Style 3 did have that "angels singing" quality to the tone...)....I also have a National M1, fairly new, got a great deal on it - not as many folks want the square neck version...
They both will have Krivo pickups on them...solving that problem was part of the thing that made tricones really viable....now that Highlander doesn't make the tricone pickup any more...I'm really happy with the Krivo, totally non-invasive and sounds great.
So yeah, I've got the Beard R, a 1972 Dobro Model 66, a PRS SE Semi Hollow, a Beard Road-o-Phonic, and a Melobar SLS 6-string up for sale....already sold a Blackbeard and Wildwood banjo...and all my pedal steels and amps are gone...I'm now an acoustic, wood-body, tricone, kind of guy... _________________ www.facebook.com/swingaliband & a few more....
