Having a 12 string set up with the first 4 as 0 A B C ..what would you tune the next 3 foot pedals in the B6 mode. It's a 7 and 5 steel. Thanks for the input I have some ideas what do you suppose? |

Typically you would omit the std C6 P4 then set up the remaining 3 for P5,6 and 7 or include P8 and use a knee lever to lower string #8 to a D and raise #4 back up to an E when the uni E-D# lever is lowered thus replacing P6 on a C6. |

I'd go with Jim's second suggestion - 6 on a lever is cool, and you will find it comes into your E9 thinking. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

I play a significant amount of Swing music on the bandstand, and would never be able to work the "E-to-Eb lever to E-to-D lever move" fast enough to keep up.
Having tried it, I am keeping P6 as a pedal because it gets used so incredibly much, mainly for the I-to-IV (or V) move is swing-ee tunes.
I could see putting P5 on a lever, fwiw. |

For the sake of brevity, I omitted to mention that I have both changes on the same lever, i.e. E to D# on a ½-stop, then push on down to D. So with E already lowered to D# the swing stuff just needs a nudge now and then. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Having tried various popular half-stops, imhe, in the heat of the moment on the bandstand, I was never able to keep them in tune.
I need to be able to slam the pedals and levers and have them be dead on.
For that reason, I personally would not want those two B6th changes on one lever with a half-stop feel at Eb. |

Pete, I know a lot of players don't like half stops and I would never urge them on anyone!
The tricky part is not hitting the stop on the way down, but finding the D# acccurately on the way back. I have achieved this by engineering a small plateau where nothing happens. Works for me - the mileage of others varies considerably, I know _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
