I built a closed back Webb clone last year and wanted an open back to match so here are my fraternal twins.

Good job on the cabinet Dave. You spent a lot of time and effort building the first one and the second one looks just as great.

From someone that's built a lot of speaker cabs, I give it a "10"

Rick Johnson built me an extension speaker cabinet to match my Webb amp and it would be kind of neat to put a Webb emblem on it, if I can find one. Very Happy

Guys, thank you for the kind words! You are all very kind. I still need to change the rear corner hardware to match the front and install the jack, both of which are on order. The name plates I purchased from another forum member.

Jimmy Webb was said to have used birch cabinets for the asthetics...he liked the way it looked as opposed to tonal quality. I think birch has both.

Ray, I need to drop you an email, my friend. Yourself and Jack Stoner need to watch that storm and plan accordingly. Remember the havoc caused by Andrew in 1992 and having been through a catagory 3 hurricane myself in 2005...it's no fun!

Good hearing back from you Dave.

It's been awhile. I see you have been real busy. Nice job on the cabinet Smile

We are preparing the best that we can for what's headed our way. If it gets too bad, we may spend a little time up in AL.

Now you will need to tell us whether you like the sound of the open back or closed back cabinet the best.

Ray

Guys,
Again, thanks for the kind words. My Webb cabinet obsession is Ron Funk's fault. I purchased a Webb cabinet from him last and that's where it started. Laughing
