For Sale: Zum Steel S-10 E9 Nashville tuning 10 string

Setup is 4 pedals and 5 knees. The guitar originally had 6 pedals and 6 knees. All the original parts are included. They can be added back on.

Currently the guitar has a Day setup, But can easily be changed to an Emmons if desired.

This is a RARE single neck Zum guitar, these seldom come up for sale. The guitar has a modern black fiber mesh formica finish. Cosmetically the guitar shows signs of use...but not abuse.

The pickup sounds great! This guitar has a great even tone!

This is a professionals steel guitar! Has an interesting history as well...

Includes a Thomas Custom case in excellent condition.

PM or email for price.

PayPal add 3%. Packing and (fully insured) shipping will be done by the UPS store.

I would consider offers of trade for Zum U-12 or black Emmons Push Pull...either single or double neck.

A donation will be made to the Steel Guitar Forum after sale.

Alex,
Was this kind of a transitional model?
I see two different types of bell cranks on it.
The foot pedals look a little different also.
Nice guitar.
Thanks,
Erv

Erv, You shouldn't comment on someone else's sale to hurt the sale.
You know you sell stuff on here too.

Paul, Erv is a making two relevant comments and asking a pertinent question. He has more experience than do many of us here about steel guitars and I, for one, appreciate knowing these things he noticed.

If someone wants the Zumsteel, it will be purchased regardless of the additional information Erv added. Yes, Erv does sell on the Forum and members also ask questions or add comments regarding his for sale posts. Good luck with the sale, Alex stevet

Steve,
Thank you for your post.
I in no way was derogatory in my comments, I was just curious about a couple of things I noticed about the Zum. I said it was a nice guitar and am sure it would make someone an excellent guitar.
I received a very nice PM from the seller. Very Happy

I am not trying to be hateful to you Erv.
Being a retired salesman it just seems that if you say anything about the product for sale that distracts from it that it could hurt the sale.
I also heard from the seller and I hope no one is upset with me.

You might be short a couple of numbers in that serial, or maybe it falls under "Note 1" on the chart

Thank you members of the steel guitar forum for this information!

Here is some information about your Zum:
"The guitar you have listed is a 1978 model. It was an "economized" model to start with, and had a 3x4 setup. Later on it was upgraded with some more parts.

This model was not the same as the regular single width Zum that features the same endplates as on your guitar. Those models also had wood front and backs.

Bellcranks and several other parts are no longer available for the guitar.

The carbon fiber finish is also not original, not that it makes any difference."
