I was thinking about getting some new fretboards from Mullen and put them on, but I kind of like Emmons ones, so I'll just leave to the buyer to change it later on if he wants to...

Jim Lindsey's PRP Mullen D10, that once belonged to Gary Hogue had the shiny Emmons fret boards on the necks. Looked awesome. What type of pickups are those Damir?

OMG, that looks exactly like my first Mullen. IF it is (and that's IF), then it's a late 1987 model and a tone monster. First thing I did to mine, as with all my Mullen guitars, is put Emmons fretboards on it. Second thing I did was change the back legs from the old kind with the adjuster halfway up to the newer kind with the adjuster down below. Without checking the serial number with Mullen, I can only guess, but my gut feeling (based on what I'm seeing in the pics) is that it could very well be my old guitar. If the serial number matches with a new guitar that went to Norris Family Music in Nov/Dec 1987, then that's it. Whether it's actually my old guitar or not (or just a happy coincidence that everything looks the same; wow, even the case looks the same), I sure wish I had the money ... I'd buy it on the spot.

Thanks, Damir. I'm almost sure that's it. I looked on an old underside photo of my guitar and what I could see of the serial number looks like 2122! There are other tell-tale things; the Emmons fretboards, the full length legs in the back, the drill holes that show at least two knee levers were removed, a slightly bent pedal rod and the case itself. Wow! All I can say is that if it isn't my old axe, there's a ton of incredible similarities going on.

My nephew and I are crunching numbers to see if there's any way we can afford it. No guarantee, but we're crunching to see what we can do. If that is indeed it (and I think it is), what a treat it would be if my old guitar found its way back to me. Of all the guitars I've ever let go, that's one of the two guitars that I've had the greatest seller's remorse over. She's a tone monster and I'd love to get her back if there's any way we can budget it in. Smile

Hi, Eric. I've had four Mullen guitars (and I'm pretty sure this one was my first one; everything seems to match up). I put Emmons fretboards on all my Mullen guitars. Mostly because I have precursor-to-migraine syndrome and Emmons boards are some of the few I can stare at and not trigger a nuclear migraine ... but, I do think they're cool and really dress it up. Smile

Damir,

Does this guitar have the "split" stops in the changer head?

It is really a gorgeous PSG. Especially with those awesome Emmons fret boards. I am sure the scale is the same as Mullen.

I have a student that this would be perfect. I am going to find if her parents can afford it.
