I am not a big push pull fan, guitars are complicated, heavy, clunky etc etc ... but I have to tell you one thing, they have the tone to die for... I was looking for a nice '66 bolt on for awhile, and I finally got one, and after playing the thing for about 15-20 minutes I realized that this is the best sounding steel I ever owned ... I don't know why, where or what, i don't have any answers, but the fact is, this guitar has the tone like no other, and you could tell, only thing you need to do is to sit down behind it, and play for 30 seconds...at least thats how long it took me to realize what this is ... it is 1966 Emmons, steel guitar with probably the best tone I ever heard, or played... there is many great sounding and playing guitars out there, but this is something totally different, I believe it deserves to be in the category on its own...

Nice Fall of 1967 guitar.

Structurally, though, metal neck Bolt-ons were the same from later 1965 when they started using jigs rather than hand fitting each guitar through late 1967. The highest number metal neck Bolt-on I have ever had was 1090D and it was December something 1967.

Your guitar is a very late metal neck Bolt-on made during the transition between Bolt-ons and Cut Tails.
I had a Cut Tail a few numbers earlier.

Yours currently has newer pickups. Emmons pickups in that era had transitioned from flatwork with solid black edges/sides to solid white. They had not yet began using the black/white layered flatwork. That came a couple years later -- maybe even 1970.

That is a nice guitar. Although it is not a 1966, it is no different from a 1966.

thank you my friend, but I can't put together nothing even remotely close to this beauty, I got it from my buddy Erv here on the forum , I would imagine he did some work on it, but I guarantee you it wasn't me lol ...

some people say it's '66 and some '67, at this point I'm so excited about this instrument, and the tone it has, that I'm really not worried about the production year... at this time I'm in the process of setting it up to my liking, I usually don't do that with guitars, because I sell or trade them , but I don't think this one is going anywhere any time soon. Very Happy
