For those who still use a "string + pot" style volume pedal I found this to very helpful tip. BEFORE it breaks (and you need it), make a sketch or diagram of the routing of the string on your pedal, showing the loops and wraps. I drew one hidden on the inside of the bottom panel of my Goodrich pedal. Very handy. You'll have a good reference right where and when you need it.

Great tip, plus a good future reference for someone with a Goodrich. Took me a moment to realize that it wasn't a piece of paper but the inside surface of the pedal bottom - good thinking! |

I don't have to tell you to also tape an extra length of fresh string inside the pedal, do I? |

I was in my late 40's when I decided to start learning from other peoples' mistakes. Thanks for posting these tips.
...Of course, I still haven't learned to stop procrastinating. _________________ Sho~Bud Super Pro, Fender Concert, NV400, Orange, (LP's, Tele's, Gretsch, Burns, etc...) |

What size is the Allen head screw that holds down the string? |

If you mean the allen head screw that holds the brass barrel to the pot shaft, it's a #6 screw that takes a 7/64 size allen wrench...IIRC. |

Good tip.
I'm old so maybe I'm not correct but I seem to recall a Goodrich with different string mounting(??). _________________ GFI Ultra Keyless S-10 with pad (Black of course) TB202 amp, Hilton VP, Steelers Choice sidekick seat
