Has anyone ever played through one of these with a steel?

Yup. And it's not a good marriage. I have one of the tri-amped loudboxes, and it really sucks for steel. I was forced to use mine once for a whole gig. Not pretty.

I sure like my mini-loudbox for practice at home on my lapsteels, used with several different blues driver pedals. You pedal-steelers have more exacting needs than I do.
