Something new for 2017.
One PSG player who is the band.

Peavey's made an RR signature amp.
I like how he makes the guitar sound human.

Must be the KT88's in the Z amp...
Higher grade 6550's used in Hammond organ/Leslie amps.

Thank you, Godfrey. I like that! It's cool to see RR playing a Mullen G2.
I saw Robert Randolph and "The Family Band" several years ago. He was with the "Experience Hendrix" tour. Impressive performance with some serious guitar slingers. Robert acquitted himself respectably. He's a great player!
Watching The Family Band was like being at a Steel Guitar show where every instrument was built by Jerry Fessenden. Let me tell you, there were a lot of steel guitars on that stage.
Whatever you might think of his musical style, there is one thing no one can deny... Robert Randolph loves the steel guitar.
Here is a talented, passionate young man, creative, full of positive energy, with some deep musical roots. Steel guitar needs the exposure. I say good for him! |

On Saturday a message went out to a lot of us local musicians looking for a pedal steel because Robert Randolph needs one for local Fargo North Dakota Blues Fest performance.
I'm thinking to myself why? Doesn't Robert load extra pedal steels when touring?

I played at the Fargo Blues fest this weekend...Saturday afternoon. Because we had to leave and get to Grand Forks for an evening gig, I missed Robert's set. I know that he ended up using a blue Stringmaster D8 that night. I doubt if anyone was disappointed. The folks in Fargo know how to have a good time.
Pretty sure there's some YouTube footage. |

Mark, It could be logistics that his gear was/is/will be in another area of the planet on a truck somewhere and the local FNDBF gig was not planned by his tour managers or out of the way for the tour convoy, roadies heading to the next main gig at the time of the Blues Fest.
Jerry, Dan, we know what we like. _________________ ShoBud The Pro 1
