On Wednesday, July 26, at 8PM, I will be giving another concert at the MiMoDa Studio and Theater, in Los Angeles. https://www.facebook.com/mimodastudio/

This will be my 4th concert there. I guess they like what they heard previously.

MiMoDa is located in the back of the Paper or Plastik Café. http://www.paperorplastikcafe.com/ The entrance to the theater is inside the restaurant.

This is primarily a classical music venue that has concerts every Wednesday, that caters to the Mozart-Beethoven community. Prior to my first performance there, the folks who attend the concerts there had never seen a pedal steel guitar before. Often, some of them are orchestral musicians.

As many of you know, my "thing" is playing classical music on the steel. My goal is to introduce our instrument to that audience. I mostly play classical music when I perform there, but always throw in a few popular tunes thrown in for variety.

Here is the program.

1 Kenny Burrell: Loie.
2 Morton Lauridsen: Dirait-On
3 Pop tune medley: Save the last dance For Me (Mort Shuman), Venus (Ed Marshall )
4 Anton Dvorak: Largo (from the New World Symphony.)
5 Gabriel Fauré: Pavane
6 Claude Debussy: Reverie
7 Jim Webb: MacArthur Park
8 Michael Praetorius: Bourrée
9 James Last: The Lonely Shepard (from the film “Kill Bill Volume 1.)
10 Leonard Bernstein: West Side Story medley

I hope those of you who are close enough, will attend.

The concert went quite well. A classical music Facebook page picked up on it and promoted it, and so the crowd was much bigger than I expected. This was my 4th appearance at this facility, and some of the people in the audience had seen me play before. The rest had never seen a pedal steel guitar before, and I got a lot of very positive comments and some questions afterwards.

I'm slowly conquering the world, one concert at a time.
