Is it related to Domland?
I posted about a Domland in Jan. 2008, but there's no photo because it linked to a now-expired eBay auction.
But I mention all this because there are a lot of Forumites who do know about them and their principals. |

I'd call it a "Faux-Bud".
Its value is dependent on the quality of the stuff underneath.
Unless it's modernized with a full set of knees, it's not gonna be worth more than a grand.

| Thanks for the replies. The front plate says, "DC Custom Houston, TX." I know the photo is a bit dark. I thought it looked like a knock off of a Sho-Bud as well. The airplane fret markers were what caught my eye. Have never seen that. |

Don Cathy is the builder, also the steel player who played for Houston TV favorite "Utah Carl". Program was on Sunday mornings, and maybe even 'live' then. I remember him smiling at the camera at lot when he was taking the lead.
I have a 1"dia 10 string stainless steel bar(which alloy?), that is hollowed out to decrease weight. On the end is stamped "D.C. Custom".
Obviously he and many other steel players experimented with custom building guitars - everyone was different and parts did not interchange. |
