I'm a big fan of B.J.Cole and I especially love the album he recorded with Luke Vibert called Stop The Panic. I guess you could say this original piece was inspired by that album. Vocals by my husband Mike Hilliard and pedal steel by myself. Hope you enjoy.

Fantastic. My mind is blown... Always good to hear something coming from an unexpected direction. Enjoyed the artwork, too.
Cheers,

I dig this, from the steel to the production. The banjo was great, and all players fantastic. |

Thanks, guys! Most of the instruments were samples and it was put together on a Mac. I think the only "real" instrument on there was my pedal steel, (and of course Mike's vocals). Computers will never take the place of live musicians, but they sure do open up a world of creative possibilities. |

Thanks so much for posting this, truly after my heart.Proves that art and the pedal steel go hand in hand. The PSG transcends all genres. Also is evidence to the endurance of this magical instrument. Melanie and Mike please keep it coming as it's wonderful...ART _________________ "six feet of snow, comin' through my radio..."

David, thank you so much. You have really inspired both of us with your kind words! It means more than you know. I think I will print this so I can look at it when I feel like quitting! |

Yeah, don't quit. The samples and sounds, particularly percussion, are used expertly--some reminding me of David Bryne and Brian Eno--
they sound loose--and the steel sound, great. |
