Looking through some old stuff I found a Jeffran College "Lick Book". That was a little 16 page booklet he gave us in the early 80s,,,15 little 2 measure lick,,,very simple licks but very effective and "clean" sounding.

I wonder how many of us have an inventory of licks like this that use for fills,,,or how many just make up something as they go?

I was there in the spring of 1980 Sonny. I don't believe I have that particular book though. I have several other pages of stuff though, like the Dirty Dozen, etc.

Matter of fact, I have a produce box about half full of material I got there at Jeff's school and from his mailings as well.

Whenever I get stale, confused, bored etc. I can pull out that box of licks, runs and instructional material and draw from the well...and I realize, I've barely scratched the surface of all the resources that he gave us and things he tried to teach us.

I remember that book. I got one sometime between 1983 and 1986.
