I have a National Triplex single neck with a white totem pole fretboard and a Valco-made Supro Airliner single neck with a totem pole so they're out there. I'm not sure about what model is in your picture but the National sticker instead of the plastic script on the headstock makes me think it's early 60's, shortly before Valco went under. I love totem pole fretboards, my favorite being the white ones with the color-scheme center mark that repeats at the octave.

It's a model 1065 "Student Hawaiian". These were catalogued in the late 1950s, but the decal logo on that one is from the mid-late 1960s. It may have been a "floor sweep" model to get rid of old parts at that point.

I have one of these with the older decal. It says National but it seems to be all Valco. Great sound!

The National brand was owned by Valco; they're effectively one and the same. When the National-Dobro Corporation was purchased by a few of its employees in 1942, they changed the name to Valco and kept ownership of the various brands.

Here's a page from the 1960 Oahu catalog. This model was never catalogued under the National name, but Valco never cared much for catalog specs anyway, so nobody really knows everything that's out there.
