This 8-string lap steel was made to match the string spacing of the buyer's existing 6-string lap steels. Bridge spacing is .406 and nut spacing is .375. Georgeboards made the custom fretboard.

Nice looking steel, Robert. Walnut for the sides? Maple and walnut is my favourite wood combination (and ice cream flavour). I also love the Sho-Bud style playing card fretboards - big thanks to Mr. Boards. Here's my build from a couple of years ago, sitting on its Deluxe 34 stand.

I left it all natural and just used a rub-on poly for finish. The lighting in that photo makes some of the maple look redder than it actually is. The headstock colour is more accurate. And the walnut piece was nice and dark to begin with. _________________ David K |
