Hi, I am Lauren Jackson, granddaughter of C. E. Jackson.
He gave me a vintage Hawaiian Conservatory lap steel in
2016, and I am learning to play. He told me I should join
the Forum, since it was a great source of steel guitar
resources. Looking forward to enjoying my membership here.

Welcome. Your grandfather has been a wonderful resource for everyone on this Forum. If I were you, I'd learn as much as I could as quickly as I could to show gramps that I really deserve one of those prewar EH-185s.

Welcome, Lauren - you'll like it here. Ask any question and you'll get good answers.
It's nice to see families keeping steel playing alive and new. Has C.E. warned you how addictive this can be?

Hello Lauren, what style of music would you be interested in playing, it happens quicker if you are learning stuff you like.

I have over 100 Videos up there of all kinds of music and I imagine your Grandfather has too.

Have a wee wander through this musical garden.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and encouragement to Lauren. She is a super
granddaughter, very serious about her music, and plays 4 instruments besides steel.
She likes several different types of music, and I am not sure what her favorite is.

Welcome also Lauren. I took Hawaiian guitar lessons in 1948 and am still enjoying it.
