Nobody using the old MXR Dyna-Comp from the '70's, '80's? I always liked them. Simple, easy to use.
I'm using all rack multi-fx stuff now, so I sold all my stomps, including that one. |
Been using the MXR for years with my strat and its still the same. Love it. |

The Diamond is the most transparent I found. People have mixed tracks through them.
That may not be enough twang effect for you. The Demeter and Keeley are better at that.
Don't forget the original Orange Squeezer for funk.

This is my "always on" pedal. I use it in a way that it is more felt than heard, comp way down, blend at about half. I dial up the grit for a germanium fuzz/overdrive once in a while, but just the hair that this gives it when it's barely subtly working is what I'm after. There is something distinctly organic about it where the normal model is more sterile.

I want to get one of these and rig it with a finger switch for the "grit" control:

I used to use a Keeley, but I felt like it was just too heavy. I don't want to compress things, I just want to excite the signal a little. The blend knob is a must. I want all the transient but with some zazz.
Looks like Keeley is working on a small one with a blend knob.

You want Mason tone go with Brian Wampler's Ego.
Brent and Brian have done some work together so Wampler is in that Tele zone. _________________ ShoBud The Pro 1
