I have a Telonics VP that I use in my home studio and use another type of VP in my gig bag to play out with.
Was thinking of using the Telonics VP at the next gig. I have mine set on the #4 taper and have not touched the impedance control. What other tapers are you using and how do you set the impedance control for a single coil pickup?

Contact Dave Beatty, he will walk you through it. He even upgraded mine at the SWSGA.

I use the #6 taper setting which emulates the old Allen Bradley pot with a bit more throw on the business end, which I feel gives me better sustain.
I use my pedal for everything, it's just that good _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Me too! When you miss a chime just enough, that extra power at the end of taper 6 is a life saver! _________________ Emmons/Sho~Bud/Blanton, Fender/Peavey.

Is the #6 taper programmed into the pedal or do you have to download it from Telonics? |

Unless it is a super early model, it should be in there. _________________ Emmons/Sho~Bud/Blanton, Fender/Peavey.

An additional shout out for Telonics products and service. I have my taper on #6 - never tried the other settings - it sounds so good. |

I just got one recently. I'm using #3 when practicing, and #7 on stage. #7 is the same taper as #3, but if has a volume gain at the top end that's useful for harmonics and long sustained notes. I don't want that boost when I'm practicing quietly at home.
I'm still learning about the pedal. The differences in the settings are pretty subtle. I have a Telonics pickup too, and a Telonics speaker in my amp. They make good products! _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

I've settled into taper #4. Gives me a bit shorter stroke and quicker action for gutting and adding sustain. Didn't think much about the taper capability until I found one I really liked and now the pedal has a unique feel to it that I can't duplicate elsewhere.

I use the number 7 and really like it. Holds a note for a long time when you get to the upper section of the pedal throw. Awesome pedal well worth the money. |

My Telonics is an earlier version as # 6 is blank. I can hook up a USB to the pedal and download the patch to the pedal. Very cool to have this option in the unit. Also, the buffered tuner output is nice feature. |

Dave Beaty invited me to stop by last week and he added 6, 7 and 8 to my pedal which is an older model. Dave and Sophie are just the greatest! Best customer service ever! |

I also have a Telonics volume pedal and I prefer #6. Just personal preference, I could probably get used to any of the tapers if I played each long enough.
Telonics has some great products!
I just got a Telonics 409 pickup from Steve Spitz this week. I'm trying to go all Telonics products, even though my playing is nowhere near the quality of Telonics, hehe. |
