Anyone know how he got the "synth" sound on this song?

Not trying to speak for Paul, but during the Tillis era he extensively used a Korg X-91 quite a bit for different sonic textures. But with all of the different effects that everyone was using back then,(Boss CE-1 Chorus, Memory Man, Rat or Bosstones for fuzz distortion) it could be a number of things together or one thing alone(like a Rat pedal, Korg Synth, and Chorus?). I'd be interested in approaching the song today with a MIDI trigger into Pro Tools and the appropriate saw-wave type of synth plugin to achieve the Synth tone while playing it on steel.

Here's what you're talking about, Eddy. Buddy used one as well.

If you're looking to do something like that, look into the Sonuus G2M. You could connect to any synth,or with an interface and software, a computer. More stuff to carry around.Smile

Thanks Jerry and Eddy! Maybe Paul will chime in later on too.
