re: Peavey Classic 30.

The amp says 16 ohms.

(1) Can I run a 4 ohm speaker?

(2) Can I run an 8 ohm speaker?

Thanks in advance for any info.

The minimum speaker load on a Classic 30 is 8 ohms, therefore it would not be advisable to connect an 8 ohm and a 4 ohm in parallel as that would result in a 2.6 ohm load on the amp.

You can safely connect an 8 ohm speaker without connecting the 4 ohm speaker. Or two 16 ohm speakers in parallel which would meet the minimum 8 ohm rating.

The stock speaker is a 16 ohm and is a Stephens speaker.
