Is this guitar smaller than, say, a LeGrande III? |

It is a little smaller because of the shorter headstock where the tuning keys are located. Possibly a touch lighter also. This is a very good playing Emmons. _________________ I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.

I don't understand this guitar staying on here. It is a fantastic deal. If you want SD10 take back neck off sell the parts for $500 and have $2500 in a nice guitar. Color is good too. |

If you want a single 10, buy you a single 10, don't butcher a nice D-10 SKH like this. Not many of these left. A great deal on one of the best sounding guitars made, can't believe it's still here too. _________________ Henry Matthews

Henry got it right...
Thats one of the nicest looking Emmons I've seen and that black & blue is beautiful.
I never saw an Emmons like that before.

Is the tone of a SKH any different from the tone of a regular keyhead? Probably the reason that the guitar has not sold is that the asking price is too high or the demand is too low....these guitars are very difficult to make tuning changes on from what people say. |

It sounds as good as any Emmons, my understanding is the short key head was supposed to eliminate some of the desirable overtones behind the nut, other than that it plays & sounds great. As for the price or time frame it is selling in, several people want it, they either don't have the money or are having a hard time commiting to a sale. The price s very reasonable, if it sells great, if not I'm ok with that too. _________________ I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.

Amazing that it has not yet sold.
If I didn't already have a D-10 I'd have jumped on it.
Love the color and everybody raves about the tone they have.
If it were an SD-10 in that color combination I would have bought in in a New York minute. I've never seen an Emmons like that before and my favorite blue.
Just seems to be a slow market right now.
Good luck. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html
