Would like to mention the excellent customer service that I received from Mr. Butch Gardner of 'BJS' tone bars. Lost the birthstone from a bar that I had owned for several years and inquired about a replacement (actually two, a spare just in case). Mr. Gardner was kind enough to provide the stones at no cost, and this was for a unit that he himself had not manufactured! Customer service above and beyond and most certainly appreciated.

Glad to hear of your success. I no longer have the jewel in my bar. I have replaced it four times and had pretty much given up on finding out how to replace it again.

A student of mine was using an Ernie Ball bar and I let him try one of my BJS bars. The improvement in tone was immediate. So was his feel and phrasing.

In my opinion, once you use a BJS bar you can never go back.

I've dealt with Butch and he's the best. Honest, straight-ahead. Outstanding, top-end product.

I agree the the bar is great. It is one of the best if not the best. The jewel just never stays in the end. It always seems to disappear on a dark stage.

I think many of us are on the quest for the perfect bar. There are a lot of good ones out there, and some great people involved. Butch gives great service and does make my favorite bars. You can't go wrong. But we each need to find our way.

Cheers, Bryan

Innovative use of a cigar box, Bryan. How to you keep it closed?
I have BJS bars in three countries and they all work well in each. 😀 Stevet

Steve,

Who wants to keep it closed with all those beautiful bjs bars in there. But if I need to, I just suck it up and close the lid.

I was trying to find a way to keep the bars organized and easy to access. So, a 1-inch bit, a 2x4 and a band saw made it easy to organize them. And the cigar box looks cool.

I did try a lot of bars, and I do like Michael Hillman's bars as well, but I keep coming back and sticking with bjs. It is what works for me.

Love the forum and all the views and ideas here, Bryan

A few years ago he made a black shiny bar that was fantastic. But the black would get on your hand. He was going to work on that and reissue the bar. But I guess he ran into some problems. I just jeep checking his site and hope.
