His only recording on steel as far as I know. This is among his earliest recordings of any type.
Apparently, he was a big fan of the Hayride's Sonny Trammell.
Here's a pic from the link of James with this band, age 16, possibly just turned 17.

I have an album from John Wakely called Please Don't Hurt Me Anymore (Decca- DL 75139), where JB is all over the place with his guitar.
There's some rudimentary steel playing too, and it doesn't sound like Ralpph Moony at all. I was always thinking that it was JB doing it to ad some colour. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

James also did alot of session work playing fingered round neck dobro. Lisyen to Loretta's you aint women enough to be my man for an example. |

That's James Burton playing dobro on John Denver's "Thank God I'm A Country Boy". JD's tour band was basically the Emmylou Harris Hot Band. |
