Now I start Phase 2, reassembly of this ole gal.
Body just came back from Southbound and it's is absolutely perfect! I could not be happier.

Now the real fun begins

Beautiful Finish, same color as my Sho Bud.
Looks like you got the nice chrome fretboards too.
Looking forward to seeing it done.
Best wishes,
Andy

Mike, where did you find the emmons decal for the front apron? It looks white as opposed to the silver color decals that the emmons co used to sell.

The guys at Southbound made the decal and it is silver and perfect size as the original. Due to my poor camera work it does look white but I can promise you is is an exact match in person. I will try and capture it better...

Flocking done, now I wait a few days so it gets good and dry then brush off the excess for a smooth perfect finish...

Of course with the blue theme the flocking is Navy Blue. Does this make it a Blue Belly Smile

Looking great! I really like the color as it seems to be a darker shade of blue than the photos shown on the Phase I post.

Anxiously awaiting more photos as it comes together.

By the way, what's the next Emmons restoration project?

Hey Mike...the work looks great. You may have clarified this in your earlier thread but looking at the pics, the flocking has a real textured look, almost like felt...what is it exactly?

Thanks guys,

Yes I am very happy with the outcome of the finish.

Ok, next Emmons resto will be this. Please don't laugh to hard LOL

Final color will be this. Going to strip all that Fugly green and cover her with flamed maple. I was lucky to find Emmons trim too like the Blue guitar.

Well the way it works is you put on a ton of flocking after you apply the adhesive. Then let her sit for a few days while it dries out thoroughly. After that you brush off all the excess and boom! great flocking... It will not look like felt or be heavy at all.

Mike,

Please chronicle the green Emmons restoration project in another post! Yes, I'd say it definitely needs a restoration.

I know people have different tastes, but I'm not sure why anyone would want THAT nasty green mica on a great Emmons guitar. I'd go crazy looking at that color after awhile.

If you cannot find another set of chrome 705s, I'd be curious as to how the reissue 705s would sound side-by-side with the blue Emmons. I'd be interested in hearing this comparison in a video after both guitars are restored!

Thanks,

Don
