@ 21:30 - I don't know the name of this song.

But at the top, @21:33, when the song goes from 1 to 2 chord, E plays something that is boggling my mind.
Looks like it involves the vertical.

Anyone?

EDIT: there's a quick 5 before the 2.

No vertical. Notice he went up two frets from the no pedal position, the cool thing you're hearing is strings 9,6,5 and possibly 7,so that's either a dom 7 or a 9th chord, then he hits the A pedal, squeezing the 5 tone to 6, turning it from a 7th (or 9th) to a 13th chord.
It might be Heart Over Mind

The song is Woman Go On Home from the Goin' Out Swingin' CD with Ray Pennington.

There was a course and rhythm track for part of this recording, but nothing for this tune. Sad

In the second half of the second complete measure I hear a VIaug7 and see his left thigh move up and down again. Then the II13.

What would the vertical do on that guitar?

Would the vertical lower the B's?

I think so. And a split with LKV and the A pedal, along with the 9th string, gives you an aug7

I thinks it's the B to Bb knee lever and the same change he does in the Nameless Shuffle. I used it also in my version here at about :58 sec into the song:

I have this tabbed out somewhere in a Forum post and it's a pretty unique use for this knee lever.

He likes to use the B to B flat lever as a quick color/passing tone quite a bit.

Yes. Up three frets (not two) from the no-pedal position with the 5th string lowered a half step gives the VIaug7 on strings 5,6,7, and you can clearly see him move the bar down a fret to get the II13. The vertical lowers the 5th string for the VIaug7 (no A pedal split - his left foot is in the air then), producing the root of the chord on that string.
