Ive seen a few threads on here about the roland cubes being good for steel guitar, I have a cube 80 and agree,

I'm curious to see what EQ and overall amp settings people are using with this amp, I tend to use the JC-clean and pretty much no treble and no bass with the mids cranked,

Im wondering how other steelers are using these.

On my 80XL I use about 65% Bass, 45% Middle, 50% Treble, 65% Presence, EFX Off, Slight Delay, 80% Plate Reverb. Bright Button Off.
To my ear that works best for my little 8 String lap steel. I suspect I would have to Tweak settings some for desired settings with my other steels. The Roland is my favorite amp sound compared to NV 400, Peavey 130 Sp. For a really great, full, big sound I love the 130 & the Roland in tandem.

I have a couple of 80XL amps. Using the JC Clean side these are the settings I start with:

Bass: 2 o'clock
Middle: 10 o'clock
Treble: 10 o'clock
Presence: 10 o'clock
Bright: OFF
Plate Reverb: 3 o'clock

Sometimes I back the Bass off closer to 12 o'clock.

On the 80 XL amps the tone controls can make pretty big changes from one notch to the next, so make small changes as you are looking for your best tone.

To my ears, the amp sounds much better when the volume is set at 12 o'clock or higher.

I hope this helps.
