That is so cool. (I think the other guitar with adjustable cranks was Blanton.) _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

B0b, you've got yourself a beautiful guitar!
Ross, that's the most robust looking undercarriage I have seen. Nice work! |

Looks like a piece of extremely neat engineering and machining, well worth a hefty price tag. I could do without the engraving, the veneer (?) on the endplates and the carbon legs Γ’β¬βΓΒ otherwise perfect! |

There's no engraving on this guitar. The endplates are brushed aluminum. Ross's pictures are of different instrument - a 14 string!.
I love the carbon fiber legs and pedal rods. Precision engineering!
Here's mine (fresh pics!):

Four screws or what are those in the corners of the top deck? _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

The 4 screws attach the top deck to the frame, leaving it free to resonate as a sound board.
The scale length is 24 1/2". _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Interesting, wonder if these guys are also luthier who have experience with guitars too.
I'd guess the carbon fiber parts make for a very light guitar.
There was at one time a Sierra body made here in Eugene completely in carbon fiber. Best I remember it was shaped like the Artist model.
I'll bet we'll soon see entire steel made from that material as an alternative. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

I kind of suspected that from some of his work and the materials chosen.
Also of interest was that he was inspired by Taku Sakashta. Not a familiar name to steelers, but to luthiers, many of us saw his great work. Sad to say he was murdered my some scum bag who was fresh out of prison.
On a brighter note, I'm happy to see other luthiers getting interested in steel guitars. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

What a beautiful guitar! I have thought carbon fiber would be great for legs for some time. Light, strong and rigid. Do I see carbon fiber pedal rods as well? I wonder why no carbon fiber pedal rack as well? Anyway congratulations. I'm painfully envious. |

There's a small gap between the top deck and the body. You can slip a business card between them.
Gary Cosden wrote: |

The pedal rods are indeed carbon fiber, and you can adjust their length by simply turning them - no tool required! _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

The four screws are like what you find on a triple neck Bigsby, with top decks not overlapping each other. You can slip s business card between the necks just as you apparently can slip a business card between the top deck and aprons with b0b's nice guitar. _________________ Chris Lucker

Beauty . .
I like the way the strings are fed through the changer. Easy string change without the worry about the ball end of a broken string falling in . .
Best of luck with it . . _________________ GFI Expo X1, Melbert 8, Rukavina 6

Isn't that kind of like the Bill Hankey Lucky 7 finger?
Is the changer the lateral movement type, ala Anapeg and Lamar?
Beautiful guitar b0b, congratulations! |

So the basic idea is to have no hardware attached to the top deck? I have often wondered about such a concept being implemented in a steel guitar.
Beautiful craftsmanship and forward-thinking design.
Congratulations b0b !!! _________________ Tommy Detamore

Nice looking axe B0B. I've been thinking of unloading a bunch of guitars and buying that "last" guitar too. This looks like it could fill that bill. Congratulations! |
