Just had 2 more problems. A friend sent me a package and I never got it. He sent it early in April. And on Wednesday, a resident in my mobile home park brought me a package that had been opened and sitting on top of the mailbox center. Obviously put in the wrong mailbox again. Thursday I took the box to the post office to complain. Their remarks -- well at least you got it. I mentioned the other package my friend sent, had his email with the tracking number. Showed delivered.

The USPS is the worst. No caring or customer service at all. And they wonder why people don't send letters any more.

G'day Dick, I sure hope you're correct on that! BUT I'll be still sweating till it gets here!

In the past, I have shipped quite a few guitars with USPS & their GXG option without a hint of a problem.
In fact, I have praised & recommended them here a couple of times. Don't know yet, what happened this time, BUT it will probably be a very long time before I risk it again!
That's a shame, because I do see other things I'd like to have, listed here from time to time. Mr. Green

Just heard from OP Mike, that FINALLY, USPS have decided to refund the shipping costs & when he gets that, we can work out just how to get it to Oz, via a competent company! Rolling Eyes

Allen that is real good news!! Sure glad to hear that!
Here is a thought, last summer I had to ship four huge cartons to Australia, they were four antique pedal tractors I dis assembled and sent to a collector. He had me ship them to a business in Texas, a business that ships regularly to Australia, an auto restorer. I'm thinking, perhaps there is a big business in your area that imports and exports a lot with the USA. perhaps one that would receive your Ricky in the US and send it over. The thought is it would be a bigger bear that can really howl and get action now should there be a hint of a mess up by the PO and FEDEX.

G'day there Dick, thanks for the comments & suggestion.
I'd sure like to find a business like that, & I'll be on the look out for certain.
ATM, I'm thinking of using another freight forwarding company, even if it costs a little extra.
I seriously doubt I'll ever use USPS or Fedex again!
I've also learned a thing or two about using P'pal in future.
I'm sure glad I didn't have this trouble with your National D8 Smile
I won't relax till it arrives & I'm not counting any chickens just yet! Oh Well
Cheers from Oz, Allen

Good luck, Damir. A leaked report just revealed that up to 0.3 per cent of all letters are lost in transit by PostNord, our USPS. That's several million letters every year! Shocked Very Happy

thanks Per, but I always make sure to tell buyer overseas that I am not responsible for international shipping issues, I just don't have any control over that, and too many things can go wrong... but I would still hate to see this guitar getting lost or damaged...

Hope it has a trouble free trip Damir & good luck!
I know that goes against your usual policy.
The USPS refund hasn't appeared as yet, & going by previous comments here, I/we could be in for a long wait?

Hi all - finally have very good news here with the Rick just delivered to its new home! Yeah!
It made the long journey & survived in top condition.
Big congrats & thanks to OP Mike, on the excellent packing job.
Can't stress enough just how important it is to have all the relevant info & contact details on the customs documentation. This would have saved everybody a lot of extra stress & hassle. Live & learn I guess Oh Well
I just want to thank all those who offered me help along the way - it is appreciated.
Cheers from a very happy chappy! Mr. Green

So glad to hear you have that Ricky in you clutches now.

G'day from Oz Dick Cool Thanks for your best wishes & yes, I'm very happy even though I had to cough up another AU$311.00 to customs for Tax,Duty & their fees!
Such is life, if one wants to collect these things here in Oz Oh Well
Is a road apple the same as a horse apple? Very Happy
At least being called something, is better than being called "late for dinner" Laughing
Cheers & happy pickin', Allen

Luck of the draw, I suppose but I have used USPS since the 1970s and never had a problem. I also FED-EX and UPS at times until they became more expensive. If the buyer wants FED-EX or UPS to be used, I go with one of them, of course. stevet

Howdy Allen:
You had it right road apples and horse apples. Hahahahha!
Maybe I related this before to you, my next brother to me and I were in the service together. We went in full fatigue uniforms with weapons combat ready by train to California in preparation for the Watts Riots. My brother and I could double talk. Our weapon strap covered the Ch on our uniform names so all you could see was apple.
We had so much fun with a Porter on the train that at one point he out loud said "you apple brothers is alright!!".
ever since then we have been the apple brothers, different adjectives to fit the situation. It was fun.

From the Lap apple, steel apple, slide apple, etc. Hahahaha.
