Does anyone know if the Russler Steel Guitar Company is still in business? I can't get Randy's, or Russ's email to work. I can't get an answer at the phone number listed. I can't get on the web page. I need a rodding chart to reset to factory settings. I traded for a Russler Eldorado1 that need some work Any help with this will be appreciated.
Thanks

According to Bill Rudolph (Williams guitars) the Russler guitar is no longer being made. Bill told me he bought a lot of wood stock from Russ Hicks. |

Looks like I made a bad trade. I played this guitar when the previous owner got it from Mike Archer and it played great so about a year later I traded for it and found out that he replaced the pickup with an Emmons single coil, and messed with the setup. I can't get any information on it. The pedals are so stiff That I can't play it. _________________ MSA Classic,Rustler Eldorado,Nashville 112, Session 500, Gretch, Ovation. |

An Emmons single coil pickup is a great sounding pickup. I wouldn't think of that as a negative.
Regarding the stiff pedals; is it just the floor pedals, or are the knee levers stiff also? I have no doubt this can all be fixed so the steel plays like it did when you first played it. Give us more details and someone can almost certainly get you on the right track. Pictures of the linkage for the stiff pedals (& levers) would be helpful. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

The floor pedals are stiff. The knee levers are good. I will try to load some pictures. _________________ MSA Classic,Rustler Eldorado,Nashville 112, Session 500, Gretch, Ovation. |

I have a rodding chart for carter guitars. It worked on a MSA Classic. I also have one for Emmons Legrand. I may have to try them. _________________ MSA Classic,Rustler Eldorado,Nashville 112, Session 500, Gretch, Ovation. |

Larry, I traded that guitar to Mike and it played great. I know Mike didn't change anything. It came with a Wallace single coil. I might can help with the rodding. I'm playing a Russler D10 now so they're the same. They're great guitars and it's a shame that Randy stopped building.

wonderful guitars.... guitar was setup to fit a player before you, you have to set it up to fit you.... it's a normal process... _________________ https://steelguitarsonline.com/ |

Contact Chuck Back of Desert Rose Instruments... I think if anybody has any N.O.S. from the original Rustler Co., it's him.
Tony, that's a "Russler" from the great Russ Hicks, not "Rustler"... different company. |

This looks like the same guitar. I played it after Mike traded it to Ray Robinet and it played, and sounded great. That is why I wanted it. Ray switches a couple of the knee levers, and I don't know why he moved the bell crank rods. I re-rodded it using a MSA chart. Now a and b pedals and all knee levers work good. The c pedal is binding. I will work on it tomorrow. I don't know why he took the pickup off and installed a Emmons single coil. He gave me a pickup that he said he removed. It is Wallace Truetone. He may have got confused on that. I can live with the Emmons. Thanks for the help. Larry _________________ MSA Classic,Rustler Eldorado,Nashville 112, Session 500, Gretch, Ovation. |

Mike traded it to Ray for a Mullen D10. I traded a Nice rebuilt MSA Classic D10 for it. I really liked the MSA, but I am getting to old to carry one that heavy. Larry _________________ MSA Classic,Rustler Eldorado,Nashville 112, Session 500, Gretch, Ovation. |

Tony could you draw a rodding chart. If not, I could drive over there and draw one or bring this guitar over and compare. I live in Elizabethton about Thirty miles from you. Thanks Larry _________________ MSA Classic,Rustler Eldorado,Nashville 112, Session 500, Gretch, Ovation. |
