Among my assortment of parts are 2 pull rods. One is long enough from pedal 1, the other from P2. I am considering hooking one (or both) up to assist in detuning. For instance, E9 string 7 lowers slightly when pedals 1+2 are mashed.

Any suggestions on which strings and from which pedal to add a slight pull to avoid detuning?

Thanks, - DJ -

I use them on string 7 lower for pedals down, and string 6 truing when using A/F pedal/lever combination. I put them both on pedal 1. They can go in the path of least tension and travel as neither of these compensators take much leverage. I've been doing this since the middle 90's and I don't notice it at all.

If you use a plain string on pedal 2, it can be a little finicky so I don't think it's a good idea to put any comp rods on that pedal, but since the 7th string is wound and takes little resistance, it would probably be OK on pedal 2.

My A pedal detunes strings 1 and 7
F lever raises 6th string for A+F

I like the 6th string truing on pedal 1 because it cures not only the A/F issue but the string 6 detune when using pedal A alone as well.

Some guitars don't experience a lot of 6th string detuning. Push your A pedal and see how much your 6th drops.

Put it on the A pedal.
I'd make sure all the various screws that hold the guitar together are snug.
Also apply no more pedal pressure than necessary to get to the stops.
Most cabinet drop is from applying excess pressure, as the pedals start to pull the body.
