I'm a newbie.... can you tell me about the cabinet? Why's it different from most?

Any problems or issues with it? I'm VERY INTERESTED.

Ricky - Looks nice. Does this custom cabinet not have the top of cabinet cutout - that resulted in knob protector bars? I guess that I'd like to see another photo, one from the top looking down.

Also, do you have any idea of the age of this amp? More specifically, as in, does the pre-amp have socketed chips or soldered in chips?

Many thanks - William

Hi the cabinet was built by Jack Stoner in Florida that's who I bought ithe amp from, not sure of the age but no need for a knob guard. I'll send you more pictures of the front of the amp after work today at 6. Or would trade for a rack amp at least 1000 watts . Thanks Ricky T

I built that about 10 years ago, a "summer project". I didn't like the cutout on top and the potential damage to the knobs. I made it straight across, like a Nashville 400. Its made from 1X12 pine and is about 5lbs lighter than the stock NV112.

It has the OPA2134 Op-Amp "mod" and a replacement reverb pan (don't remember the model but the one that Tommy White was recommending). It also had a D2F cover when I sold it to Ricky.

That amp was used on three Florida winter tours with Tommy Cash and two Florida winter tours with George Hamilton IV and still looks and sounds new.
