I got one of the first batch made and LOVE it. I have it on my Beard Odyssey, price about $4K. Doublshot package (including locking tuners and roller nut, which are essential) is about $500. I don't need two Odysseys for different tunings... That saves me $3500 so I think it's a good deal. The machine work, polish, fit and finish are excellent.

Dave Borisoff told me around 1983 that he had abandoned his goal of putting pedals on a Dobro because of cabinet drop being much worse than on a solid pedal steel. It seems he has found that the solution was right there all the time: allow only one pedal, and make it raise all 6 strings (no lowering.) Then you can get 2 tunings to accommodate any weak bodied instrument. Bravo!
