People are always asking how old their steel guitars are. Like all things made of wood, the answer is simple. You cut through the wood and count the rings.

Yep, that's where it ended up. I had intended to restore it but it became obvious that it would be easier to build a complete new neck than repair this one, and, as you say, it had to be in three pieces to go into the garbage bin.
I ended up selling the mechanisms, giving away the frame and other neck, and using the hardware on a hybrid Stringmaster, which I published in the Forum about 18 months ago.
