***Updated 5/1/17 to include both breaks and outro*** George Sherrard requested this one. "Trick Rider" is off McBride and the Ride's "Sacred Ground" album. Comments and corrections always welcome.
Here it is on youtube, Bruce Bouton's 1st break starts at 1:40 and the 2nd break starts at 3:00. The outro follows the 2nd break. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGArMNfENYE

Thanks, guys. Yes Staale, I think part 2 will be next. It looks a bit more demanding than Part 1 but I always enjoy a good challenge. Wish me luck haha Smile

I made two (casual) walk-through videos for parts 2 and 3 on Trick Rider. If these help anyone, I can make one for the first part as well or go more in-depth if needed. Thanks guys.

i'm finding it easier to use b+c pedals on the 3rd fret instead of going to the 8th fret and using the lever for the lick on the 2nd line of the 2nd page.

what a great solo!

***Updated 5/1/17 to include both breaks and outro***
Sorry for the delay guys. See my original post now for both breaks and the outro. I took Dave Campbell's suggestion of using B & C pedals at the 3rd fret. For anyone who printed out my original posting of page 2, it has been totally revised now so use the new one posted above! Thanks for everyone's suggestions and help - this turned out to be a very popular tune on the Forum.

man, you are a prolific, jeff. your transcriptions dominate my practice time.

another option i found helpful for playing this up to speed is to come out of the 3rd fret b+c pedal passage and do the final part (3rd line of page 2) with the knee lever on string 4, the 5th string a pedal at the 8th fret and sliding down to finish the lick with a+b on the 5th.

can't wait to tear into the rest of it tonight! thanks again, jeff.

Great solo. Joe is a fantastic player and I’m sure he could chime in and tell y’all how he did it

Jeff;
I just joined the forum and am really enjoying all the folks I have met up with so far. When I noticed the tablature for "Trick Rider" on the forum It hit pretty close to home for me. My cousin Ray Herndon is a band member, sings back up vocals and plays guitar for Terry. Ray and I hadn't seen one another since we were just kids. I heard they were coming to Colorado Springs to play a venue called "Cowboys". So I and reached out after all the years and he got back in touch with me and was able to get us in early just to say hey and watch the sound check. After about 3 or 4 songs they played "Trick Rider" and it was the first time I had ever had the opportunity to see and hear Terry and the guys play. I was amazed at how effortless it seemed for the steel player to get through that song. Its really great to have folks like yourself to help out guys like me and others to not only learn but to know that we have the wealth of your knowledge at the click of the mouse. Thanks so much.

Here's my loose take on this and I still believe it was Joe Rogers, sure sounds Bruce Boutonish. Maybe Bruce or Joe will pop in here to clarify.
