I was lucky to see Jaco and hang out with him back in the late eighties at 7th Ave, South. Michael Brecker, Kenwood Dennard, Hiram Bullock, Mitch Forman, but I missed out by a few years on the big band, Have the albums, but this stuff keeps me going!

Othello is something else!

I also grew up under the spell of Jaco in the 80s. His compositions were as brilliant as his bass playing.

Yeah Mike,

I agree, my co-worker whom was a bass player till his finger had a fight with a snow blower, turned me on to Jaco, and I agree he wrote so many great songs.

I also got to meet Manolo Badrena, when he did some shows with my buddy Glenn Alexander, the 80's were a great time for Jazz, Funk, Fusion, whatever ever you want to categorize it.

I have a cool poster that Jack's brother made
After Jaco was killed, I have it framed with his autograph on the back of my business card. I will try to post a picture of it.

JACO had a lot of passion in him, maybe too much, but thanks to videos like the one I posted, we can still enjoy it!

I saw Manolo and Glenn together at J&R Music World, going way back.

One of my favorite videos on the entire internet is Jaco and Toots playing Jaco's composition Three Views of a Secret. His music sounds great in a big band, or just a duo. True genius.

That's great you were able to hear Jaco live, Craig. I trust your Summer is moving along in fine form. Another the PSGA gathering on the horizon?

Yes, Chris we are in the planning stages now, and I'm hoping that you make it down again, we all had a blast last year, and as far as Jaco, I did get to see him 3 times at 7th ave. South (Michael Brecker's club) a short time before his death. Many great player and happy I went, got to buy him a beer, nice polite guy.

Just watched the documentary of his life last week on Netflix , wish I knew all that back then, but you know how that goes.

I have a really cool poster that Jaco's brother did after his death that I have framed along with the backside of my business card that Jaco signed, on my wall.

The other day, literally, my wife found her old treasurer card (an early atm card) that Brecker had signed on the signature strip. Sadly he is gone too, but great memories.

Check out the Jaco documentary, it's well worth the time.

See you in Norwalk Chris
