What should we expect from this generation of Poly-Country self absorbed politically correct sampler, looper, formulaic musicians?

Bottom line is if they don't know what true country is then they don't know how to make it, or what to intelligently say about it. However they are more than happy to ride on its back like a 5 year old posing for a picture on a pony.

I can see why you never liked this JA, Carl.

"If I am “Male Vocalist of the Year” that must mean that I’m one of those people now that gets to decide if it moves forward and if it moves on."
Wow. Doesn't really attract me to him.

"And I don’t care how many of these old farts around Nashville going, 'My God, that ain’t country!' Well that’s because you don’t buy records anymore, jackass."
Poly-Country self absorbed politically correct sampler, looper, formulaic musician indeed. The free pony ride is apropos.
"[W]e as the new generation of country artists have to keep re-inventing country music to keep it popular." Re-inventing the wheel?

Good article. I enjoyed Ray Price's response.

This poser wouldn't have made a scab on Ray Price's a$$.Time will tell if he can endure with the likes of Ray Price,Merle Haggard,George Jones,Jean Shepard,Connie Smith, and others.Connie Smith remains popular today;the others were popular until the day they died.I won't be around to see it,but I wonder how he will be remembered 50 years from now?

The current business model for these jackasses is to use their money to start a bar & grill franchise before the career drys up. My 2¢ only..

Not that it matters, but for the record........

The Blake Shelton article is 4 YEARS OLD.

The Rascal Flatts article is more recent, and is 1 YEAR OLD.

Interesting or not, it's old news.

Of course the new bunch will put down the old. To me they are irrelevant.

The true greats had a claim to fame that they sang and performed well. They did not need some funny chair that turns around to make people cheer.

The genocide of good popular music coinciding with the genocide of intelligence is something i cannot " get over". I've heard ignorance is bliss but I don't have any experience with that regarding these two subjects.Whats it like?
P.s. I meant the president of country music, not of The president of a country, that's just silly.

As pointed out by others this article is indeed four years old - and when it came out it caused quite an uproar.

For the folks who have just heard about it and are irritated by it in April, 2017 - I suppose one could ask Shelton if he still stands by the "old farts" portion - and since it took four years for some people to get around to being aware of the contents and are ragging on him just now, I suppose Blake could use this classic expression for his answer: "I rest my case." Wink

I've opened for Blake Shelton. He's a mediocre glorified Karaoke singer at best. Boring as hell. Ricky Van Shelton could sing him under the table. He couldn't carry Moe Pitney's microphone.

His ex makes him look like the hack he is. And money is not the issue. Best guitar player I've ever seen was at the San Jose flea market.
