My dad on his Gibson Steel

My father, James (Jimmie) Williams played steel guitar in the 50's at many local clubs. He gave it up for many years, but in his later years after my mother passed away, he returned to playing the steel, mainly in churches and nursing homes with a small group of friends locally. The guitar is a 1937 Gibson EH150 lap steel. I still have it and just played it last night as a matter of fact. I did have to get the pickup re-wound a few years ago.

Just thought some of you folks might find this interesting. Dad has been gone many years now, one of my regrets is that I didn't let him teach me how to play before he passed on.

A great picture which I know you treasure. I have photos of my Dad playing which I treasure. Don't ever sell that steel. Smile
