IT just hit me all at once about how to do palm blocking for speed pickin. I tried it on rocky Top and it works beautifully.
I could always do speed on the C6th but never on the E9th to my liking. Amazing how things just seem to work when you least expect them to. |

Thats just 35 years of practicing.. I've been playing longer than that. So add about 10 more years to your calculation ...LOL |

Very interesting. What was the change? Were you practicing a particular lick or passage? Tried a new hand position? |

Actually a new hand position did the trick.
I tried everything and nothing seemed to work the way I wanted it to. I could do some speed but the faster I played the worse my blocking got. I hope this works out.
I played in a bluegrass band for a few years a long time ago. A fried of mine showed me how to burn the strings up. I tried and it just fell into place. About the same way steel speed did. |
