I have an older Rittenberry that has little pieces (that look to be made out of spring steel) that push over the rod to hold the rod from coming out of the bell crank, anyone know what are these called and where can I get a few or an alternative for them? |

Wow! I don't know about the push on clips Bob's link goes to. Seems to me they would be really hard to remove should you want to change something in the future. RP _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |

To me they look like they would pry off easy enough with a screwdriver. My question is, how well do they still on? Did Ritt continue to use them?
If they stay on they seem like they would be much easier to use than snap rings or e-clips |

Some auto mfgs. used those tension washers as in BK's post as retainers for carburetor linkage, HVAC cable retainers, etc. I used needle nose pliers along with a pick set to remove them. Sometimes, they would break at the eyelet on removal otherwise, squeeze the eyelet a bit and you could reuse them. Should always keep some extras on hand jic.
One of my Universal guitars used those as rod retainers. I hadn't found a source for them until now. Thanks BK. |

no Ritt doesn't use them anymore but I was able as Jerry said to carefully work them off and reuse them. |

Get them at Lowes - ask for Speed nuts , they come in difference sizes so might want to take a rod with you if you don't know the rod diameter. I used them on my Rains guitar. |
