Hi -

I know this is an obscure question but maybe someone out there has had someone experience of working on Tiesco Steel pickups..........

Im refurb'ing an old Tiesco Steel Guitar.
The pickups I have on the guitar are original but are missing all the pole piece screws.
Does anyone have any idea what the thread size is on those old Tiescos? Where I might be able to get these screws??
Here's a pic of a similar pickup I found on the internet (but obviously not mine as it has screws!):

I know this is a long shot....next stop the hardware store, and Ill just buy a bunch til I find the right size...I believe 5-40 is a pretty common size....

Thanks

I wonder if 60's Japanese would have been metric and not SAE? Most hardware stores are gonna jump from 4-40 to 6-32 in the non-metric sizes. I don't know that I've ever seen 5-40 but maybe just because I wasn't looking.

Hi Bill -
I wondered the same thing about Metric vs. SAE....looking online it seems that both systems were in use.
I tried a metric M3 size (my hardware store had run out of 4-40)....very close! but wrong thread...so Im thinking it might be a 4-40 size (not 5-40 which seems to be every American pick up pole screw size).

Thanks for your thoughts.
