I was just curious how many used stomp boxes vs. rack effects vs. multi-effects. Do you sit them on the floor, or on your amp ? Do you use a pedal board ? I'm in the planning stages of a possible new product and I'm gauging demand.

I have a rack with rack effects.
Bought a used pedal train on craigslist for use with combo amps. Also can hang on rack.

I am playing clean most of the time except for reverb and delay.

I use a POD X3 (for effects only). I have a Tommy Dodd leg holder for the POD X3.

I use two stomp boxes. One is a compressor which sits on the floor next to the volume pedal. I never adjust it - it's either on or off.

The other is a delay which is mounted on the rear of the guitar at the left, an option which Dustin was not expecting. In that position I can adjust it easily - it's mostly on.

I have an old stomp box phase shifter (Mutron Phasor), and two stompless boxes (the Bradshaw Dunlop Resonator, and a Mahoney Buzz Tone/Buzz Boost combo). Kinda like stomp boxen, but you can't stomp them

I have had many different pedals and racks and I keep coming back to this setup. This sounds the best when I use the send and return or effects loop in an amp. Still sounds very nice from the volume pedal to the amp input.

I use a Rp 155 mounted on the right side of my seat at seat height usually. When I choose to just use my DOD DFX9 delay pedal, it gets set on the floor next to my seat so I can bend over to reach it.

I use a Zoom GX1on ,sitt'n on the floor.
Sounds dam good. I get a lotta compliments on the sound of it thru my lil tube combo.
And the built in tuner is easy to use.

Old thread but I missed it.

I couldn't vote because there wasn't a category for this:

I'm using very few pedals. I'm looking for a used SMALL pedal train or I may build something if something doesn't pop up on Craigslist. All I'm using is a Boss DS-1 distortion for a Jason Aldean tune and my Peterson Strobo Stomp 2 tuner.

I have a small rack with a Lexicon 200 for verb and delay and I use it to create stereo image and a DBX dual 15 band EQ. From there it goes to 2 Nashville 400s. Right now all that stays home. All that leaves the house is the 2 stomp boxes and one Nashville 400.

Use a TC Electronics M-300 with my Stereo Steel in a rack.
I also use a Boss DD3 when I use my Nashville 1000 or 400.

I selected the first option because I sometimes to put them on the floor. But more often, I put them on the little case that I carry them around in. It sits by the side of the guitar, within reach of my right hand.

Lately I've been using an Earth Tone and an H&K Rotosphere, sparingly.

I sometimes use the Echoplex I got from Don Dixon, but I like the way a steel sounds without effects. A beautiful-sounding instrument! Would you use effects pedals on a cello? Guess I'm old fashioned!

Wampler Faux Analog Delay sits on top of my amp. Bobro sits on the floor beside my volume pedal so I can turn it on/off.

Sometimes I use a little foldable camping table, and sometimes I put them on the floor in between the foot pedals and volume pedal. Lately I've been gravitating towards the floor, but for some effects heavy gigs ilk still use the table so I can adjust things. I want to build something that clamps into my steel's leg.

I don't use any effects for my classical stuff, except the reverb in the amp. I sometimes use a Rat (on the floor) when I play rock.

I missed the whole effects thing... only used Ć¢ā‚¬Å“In AmpĆ¢ā‚¬Ā¯ reverb for about 40 years, till about 4 years ago... then used a Profex ll for a couple of years and then a couple of years ago went to a Lexicon MPX1 and then rarely ever move off of my favorite setting... If I record then I may throw some plugins at it, but only then... IĆ¢ā‚¬ā„¢m not sure my ear is good enough to hear all the nuance that some of the other effects may add.

Only use delay and earth drive when needed. Have them on little pedal train board that has space for 3 pedals. Have tuner on there too. Not a big fan of effects and pedals. My tele and D8 rig has delay and tremolo and a compressor(tele) and boost/overdrive for steel and that's it. Would use less if I could. A little goes a long way I think.
